Reet Goraya OC ‘21

Reet Goraya ‘21 is a Biology major on the Pre-Med track. She was involved in a number of organizations at Oberlin, having served as Captain of the Varsity Field Hockey team, a Peer Advising Leader (PAL), and Treasurer and Chair of the South Asian Students Association (SASA). Outside of Oberlin, she conducted research on the AIDS epidemic with UNAIDS in Johannesburg, South Africa and conducted clinical trial work for drug development at the Neurological Institute in Charlotte, NC. Reet also worked with Chevy Chase at Home, an NGO in her hometown area, to help her elderly community members find spaces for communication, resources, and social support during COVID-19. When she was not on Bailey field playing field hockey, she was teaching her peers Punjabi folk dance in the Bhangra exco. Reet is excited to research public health and environmental conservation in Tamil Nadu while also studying the language and historic culture of South India.
