HOW TO APPLY

Fellowship Application

​Before you start your application, we suggest that you familiarize yourself with Oberlin Shansi's backgroundmission, and our partner organizations. Once you do this, you’ll be ready to go.

**APPLICANTS: You are responsible for sending the link to the Recommendation Form (above) to your recommenders. We suggest sending the above Recommendation Form link to your recommenders at least 2 WEEKS before the application deadline.**

Application Details

It will be easy to complete this application if you have everything prepared in advance. Below, we've provided a list of information and documents that you will need:

  • Your resume summarizing your education, work, volunteer, and special attributes, awards and other activities

  • Your transcript from the Office of the Registrar. (We encourage applicants to submit a PDF of their official transcript. However, we will accept unofficial transcripts. We reserve the right to request an official transcript at a later date.)

  • Statement of purpose of no more than 750 words in length (see page 2 of the application form for more information)

  • Self-introduction of no more than 750 words in length (see page 2 of the application form for more information)

  • The names of three recommenders – names, email, and phone numbers

    • An Oberlin College faculty member

    • A current or former supervisor, mentor, adviser, or coach who has worked with you outside of a classroom context

    • A peer -- this can be Oberlin College friend, classmate, or a peer from elsewhere

You may apply to more than one Fellowship site in the same application. Please ensure that you respond to questions that correspond to the type of Fellowship(s) for which you are applying.
