Condolences on the passing of Dr. D. Peter Jayapandian

It is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing of Dr. D. Peter Jayapandian, former Principal and Secretary of American College in Madurai, Tamil Nadu, India, on November 23, 2022 at the age of 83. Dr. Jayapandian was Principal and Secretary of American College between 1987 and 1998. He joined American College in 1963, was an Oberlin Shansi Visiting Scholar in 1969, and completed his PhD in Physics from the Ohio State University in 1974. The thoughts of the Shansi community are with Dr. Jayapandian’s family, which includes his son Dr. J. Paul Jayakar, also a Shansi Visiting Scholar and currently Dean for International Exchange and Study Abroad & Head, Department of English at American College.
