We are excited to announce the selection of seven new 2025 Shansi Fellows who will be working with our partners in China, India, Indonesia, and Japan. This was an exceptionally competitive year for the fellowship, and we are thrilled to welcome the newest members of the Shansi community.

Olive Badrinath ‘24, a psychology and linguistics double major, will serve as the second Shansi Fellow to the American College since we resumed our historic partnership in 2023.
Our new Indonesia Fellows, Ella Erdahl ‘25, a Hispanic Studies, Comparative Studies, and Creative Writing triple major, and Trevor Smith ‘25, a Politics major and Philosophy minor, will be based at Gadjah Mada University in Yogyakarta and Syiah Kuala University in Banda Aceh, respectively.
