In the News: Kara Nepomuceno '20

We would like to share a recent article about our new 2020-2022 Jogjakarta fellow Kara Nepomuceno ‘20. With support of Shansi’s In-Asia Grant, Kara spent January 2019 in Manila studying pangalay with professional performance group Alun Alun Dance. As a dance major, her senior thesis integrated this experience in the Philippines learning dance and connecting with her Filipino roots and was recently adapted into a narrative piece, “A Month in Manila,” which will be published and distributed in December as part of the anthology Dance Adventures: True Stories About Dancing Abroad. This anthology also includes a piece by Shansi’s Deputy Director, Ted Samuel.
