Condolences on the passing of Charlotte "Char" Penfield Gosselink '57

Dear Shansi Family,

It is with great sadness that we share with you the news that Charlotte Penfield Gosselink ’57 passed away on Friday, December 10, 2021. Char and her beloved husband Charles “Chuck” Gosselink were Shansi Reps in India from 1957-59 at Hislop College in Nagpur. They returned to India from 1968 to 1971 to serve as Senior Reps in Madurai, working with Shansi Reps and partners at American College and Lady Doak College until the program was suspended by the Government of India. During a lifetime as an advocate for justice and equality, punctuated by stints abroad and around the United States, Char also found time to serve two terms on the Shansi Board of Trustees.

The Shansi team in Oberlin and the entire Shansi family are grateful for Char’s service to Shansi in so many ways, and we share our sincere condolences with the Penfield and Gosselink families.
