Oberlin Shansi provides $1,500 grants to support undergraduate activities in Central, East, Southeast or South Asia during either winter term or the summer. Up to FIVE grants will be issued this year. Grants are available to students wishing to pursue in-country language study, internships with non-governmental organizations, or other individual initiatives in any country in Asia. Preference will be given to an individual, creative and independent project. Conferences are not funded. Recipients will be required to report their experiences back to the Oberlin community in the form of a document or public presentation, at the discretion of the student. This program is available to Oberlin College undergraduate students. Graduating seniors are not eligible to apply.
