Oberlin Shansi provides study grants to Oberlin College & Conservatory students for the purpose of promoting individual and creative engagement with Asia by Oberlin students. The grants are up to $1,500 to support individual initiatives in East Asia, Southeast Asia or South Asia, including internships with non-governmental organizations, or other projects. Only First-year, Sophomores, and Juniors are eligible for the grants. Graduating Seniors are not eligible.
Within one month of the end of the project, the grant recipients are required to submit to Oberlin Shansi a short narrative report, no more than 2 pages, of the results of the project. The recipient will also give a presentation of the project to the Oberlin community. This presentation will be organized by Shansi.

5. Two Letters of Reference: (NOTE: Provide your referees with copies of your proposal and fill in your name at the top of the reference form. Your referees are asked to return the reference directly to the office of Oberlin Shansi.)
