Oberlin Shansi presents the inaugural Jacobson-Cocco Distinguished Lecturer Ho Chao-ti

Independent documentary filmmaker, Ho Chao-ti, will discuss her work, especially two of her latest films, My Fancy High Heels and Sock ‘n’ Roll. She has made films centered on marginalized communities and non-mainstream issues, such as hybrid contemporary culture, and the hidden, more private costs of globalization.

Ho represents the new wave in Taiwanese cinema. Her films include Wandering Island (2009), The Gangster’s God (2006) andEl Salvador Journal (2008) that won the Documentary – Special Award in Taipei Film Festival.
